Yesterday the Force was with us…
The stars were aligned last night. There was a Christmas showing of The Force Awakens at the nearby drive-in theater. I made it eleven days without hearing a single spoiler online. It was 60°F on Christmas. We got primo parking spots. And we got two two-dollar bills back as change.
As for the movie (without spoiling it) it was great, and for the first time in a very long time I’m excited about Star Wars. The characters were great: Kylo Ren was a great “bad guy,” Rey was instantly likable, BB-8 was adorable, and we got to see some old friends along the way. The pacing was good, the special effects were on point and everything felt “real.” It was a great start to the sequel trilogy, and left me waiting for more.
